SpectraBox is for entertainment only. The spirit box plays every sound from your device: a noise sweep generated live, plus a recorded voice clip for each word, and the words come from a word list built into the app. There is no radio and no internet, so it works in airplane mode. The EMF meter shows your phone's real magnetometer as a fun readout. Results are not evidence of paranormal activity.
Check that your phone is not in silent mode (the ring/silent switch on the side) and that the volume is up. SpectraBox plays through the normal media volume.
The meter reads your phone's magnetometer. Move the phone near electronics, speakers, or metal and the number will change. You can re-zero it to your room with "Calibrate to here" (a Pro feature).

Open the app, go to About or Settings, and tap "Restore purchases". On iPhone this checks your App Store account; on Android it checks your Google Play account. A purchase made on iPhone does not carry over to Android, or the other way around, because each store handles its own billing.
SpectraBox on Android asks for the camera (Spirit Lens and the Overlay Evidence Camera), the microphone (the EVP Analysis Lab), precise location (only when you add a location to a Case File), and notifications (to show a background-session notification). Every one is optional, requested only when you use that feature, and can be reviewed or turned off any time in Settings > Apps > SpectraBox > Permissions; the rest of the app keeps working without them.
