SpectraBox is for entertainment only. The spirit box generates all of its sound on your device with audio synthesis, and the words come from a word list built into the app. There is no radio and no internet, so it works in airplane mode. The EMF meter shows your phone's real magnetometer as a fun readout. Results are not evidence of paranormal activity.
Check that your phone is not in silent mode (the ring/silent switch on the side) and that the volume is up. SpectraBox plays through the normal media volume.
The meter reads your phone's magnetometer. Move the phone near electronics, speakers, or metal and the number will change. You can re-zero it to your room with "Calibrate to here" (a Pro feature).
